Finally Friday?! Seems like Friday keeps sneaking up on me. This month has been so busy! I guess that is just life. My days are going by in a flash. Today I want to share a quick tutorial with you. I love all things felt, especially these easy fringed felt blooms. Here is how I make them:
You will need some super sticky tape, a pair of scissors, glue dots and a piece of felt cut to 1 1/2 x 4 inches. I like to use the acrylic felt found in craft stores for cards. It's less expensive than the wool or wool blend specialty felts.
Step One: Add a strip of strong tape to the 4 inch edge of the felt. Peel the release paper and fold the felt in half hot dog way. You will see what I mean in step two. Step Two: Once the strip is secured with tape hot dog way add a second strip of strong tape on the 4 inch edge as pictured.
Step Three: Fringe with scissors. Cut the fold of felt about 1/8 of an inch apart and down to the adhesive.
Step Four: Peel the adhesive release paper and ROLL.
Step Five: Adhere to your card front with glue dots and embellish with hand cut felt leaves.
Here is a close up of the finished flower in action. I cut the leaves freehand from a scrap of olive felt and used glue dots to secure the whole thing to itself and to the card. Thank you for stopping by! Whether, for you, it's FINALLY Friday or I can't believe it's already Friday I hope it's a good one.
