Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop! We're SO glad you're here!
spotLIGHTing is our featured technique and we can't wait to see what
you've created ~ so please share your link with us below!
For my Spotlight card(s) I wanted to go out of the box and think of some different ways to 'spotlight'.
Here are the 4 cards I came up with ... hope you enjoy!
Are you wondering if your eyes are deceiving you?! That IS Tropical Smoothies Cardstock that I stamped the base image on! It's layered onto Boysenberry Smoothies and my spotlight image is stamped on our Caboodles Cardstock ... kind of an unexpected palette right?! Trust me ... I didn't plan it! LOL! I'm trying VERY hard to go outside my box!
After I colored the image with my Copic markers I melted Bees Wax on top!
{courtesy of Kim Sears ... thank you Kim ... I LOVE IT!}
The next card I created ... well ... its got a look of its own!
You can check out the complete tutorial here.
The next card I created was a little sassy I thought!
You can check out a complete tutorial here.
And finally ... the last card I created ...
I hope you've enjoyed ... I sure had fun playing around with this technique!
I encourage you to join us! Share your link below and show us how you spotlight!

So this Blog Hop is ALL about your FAVORITE! It could be your FAVORITE TAC stamp set, your FAVORITE technique, your FAVORITE TAC paper collection, your FAVORITE retired TAC set ... even your FAVORITE way to use glitter glue! {smiles} What's your FAVORITE? We wanna' see!
Well, my FAVORITE is probably paper piecing! At least I have LOTS of paper pieced cards in my sample box that I've created ... I guess that kinda makes this a FAVORITE for me! {more smiles}
I decided to use one of the new sets from our upcoming Inspiration Book & Catalogue that I designed called Chair-ished ~ you can see the Sneak Peek here! In the photo above I didn't color correct anything ... and in the shots below I just did the automatic color correct buttons ... I used the green, winter scape blue, and winter scape blue floral patterned paper patterned papers in our Maggie Collection (not official names ... just how I describe them), solid blue cardstock, green ribbon that matches the green paper and a few gray copic markers. On my screen ... my greens read really brown ... perhaps they'll read greener on yours?!

Welcome to the Easter Basket Bonanza Blog. Spring is such a happy time with new life and the change of seasons to warm, sunshiny weather. I hope you will join the blog hop with your Easter basket creation.
My basket is made with a 12x12 sheet of Maggie SWIC. This size is perfect for Easter eggs, and I plan to use it as a table centerpiece.
The bunny is from T2719 I Love Easter, cut from a Spellbinder's Labels Nine Nestabilities. I colored it with Copic markers and attached the two cardstock handles with brads. Maggie ribbon is used on the handles and tied into bows on one handle.
My second creation for the Easter Basket Bonanza Blog Hop is a basket card.
My basket is drawn free hand on a folded piece of Cha Cha cardstock. I used the Scor-Bug to make basket lines on the cardstock. Then I added eggs and a bunny from T3304 Easter Bunny.
The sayings are from R2041 Hoppity Skippity.

Other supplies: Premium White cardstock, Copic markers, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, orange ribbon, and Stickles Crystal Glitter glue.

Now let's get hopping!
I wanted to try my hand at something a bit more 'untraditional' for a St. Patty's Day card so I thought I'd use the standard St. Patty's Day Greens with a bit of BAM ~ Mulberry BAM that is! Additionally, I wanted to incorporate one of Heather's Monday Card Sketches because these truly make card making simple and smart! Here is the card sketch I used for this card {HMS #139}:
And for some reason I've always wanted to make GREEN Beer! Perhaps it's my Irish heritage .... right?! Okay ... maybe not. Regardless ... I've always wanted to make GREEN Beer so that's the theme I went with. I used my yellow flower punch to make my shamrocks. I just cut out between each flower and then added a stem. VersaMark around the edges of all of my green cardstock ... YUM!
I stamped and embosses my image on vellum and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils. I then stitched the vellum onto white ultrasmooth. A vendor sent me a new white pen to try out and can I say L-O-V-E! OMGosh! L-OOOOOOO-V-E! GORGEOUS!
I hope you enjoy!

It's one of my favorite days of the month! Blog Hop Day! YAHOO! And this isn't just any ole' blog hop ... this is a TECHNIQUE blog hop! If you've never tried RETIFORM now is your chance to take a look and play along!
Join us and link your Retiform creation to our blog starting today. The hop will be open for posts until Sunday February 6th at 11:59pm est.
BLOG CANDY! Oh yeah! What’s a Blog Hop without Blog Candy?! One lucky customer and one lucky Angel will receive Blog Candy - handpicked by Mischelle. The winners will be chosen randomly from those who are participating in our Blog Hop.
Saturday February 5th join us for a chat over in our Paper Crafting Community Mischelle will join the chat at 9 pm EST (8 pm CST).

Now let's get hopping!
So this is my first RETIFORM card in YEARS! It took me a LONG time to finish ~ I started it months ago and wrapped it up months later. {smiles} I knew there wasn't a hurry so it got set on the back-burner for quite some time.
I wanted to use this set (when I started this card it was football season) and make a card with our school colors which are Texas Orange and Black! YUM! I decided to add in some gray because it goes with everything right!
I hadn't intended on stamping in every box around my image but I forgot what I was doing and before I knew it ~ almost every inch of this card had 'KICK OFF' stamped on it somewhere. Oh well. I don't think it's terribly awful!
I really like adding layers on top of the RETIFORM. I don't know why but I need a more distinct focal point. So I added one and applied it to my card with pop dots.
Here are the inks I used ~ Tangelo, Potters Clay, London Fog and Tuxedo Black Memento Inks. I also used these foam make-up sponges to get a smoother finish.
So ~ I TOTALLY forgot I had already made a RETIFORM card and prepared this blog post ... and it was only like 2 days ago I did this! Oh my! LOL!
So ~ I thought I needed to get a RETIFORM card made because I hadn't crossed if off my list yet. I have 2 more cards that I was going to feature but you can't see the RETIFORM in them so I'm posting them later. Here is the card I created and following is how I got to this point!
So ~ time to get started. I wanted my card to look as good as this one by Heather Scott. So I placed it on an easel in front of my workspace. My inspiration piece:
Then I decided to try something I've NEVER done before. I pulled out my cardstock and looked at palette's that I wanted to work with. Then I looked for ink to match.
I cleaned up my work area and surrounded myself with the supplies I was using. I opened up my Inspiration Book so that my main stamp set was in front of me. WOW! Look at me go!
I gathered up some scratch paper, ripped it up and put some glue marker on the back of it to try and hold it in place while I worked.
I am using these makeup sponges because all of my hydra sponges are designated for other colors and I don't have any others on hand.
My paper slipped off so I stopped and called the pink good!
Yep. It's about now that I realize I've done it wrong. Oh well. As tempted as I am to start over I'm not going to. I can make this work!
Notice on Heather's card that she has TWO really crisp lines for the ripped cardstock. I don't. Saddums.
I wanted to show you which adhesive I use for this tiny frame. I LOVE this Tombow Mono Glue! LOVE IT!
I used Copic Markers R11 and R20 to color in my bird. And then added more color and stamping.
NOTE: The flat tone of my bird. Look specifically at its eye ...
I later took a brown marker and started to add some dimension myself.
I think this card may have looked better had I left off the 'hope perches in my soul' HOWEVER that was one of the parts I just COULDN'T leave off! This girls soul needs HOPE perched in it!
So here's my card next to the masterpiece. You notice I placed my watermark signature under the masterpiece! Ok ~ it really did look best there. It is funny though!
Heather's card is certainly more striking and one of the reasons is because of her color palette. She is working with two strong colors and next to each other they are BAM! PERFECT colors for her card and her images. The entire package Heather selected works well together!
I choose two colors that to me read more feminine, soft, delicate and worked sweetly with the images I had chosen. These are all details that set the tone for the final result.
Guess what ... I didn't use ... Glossy Accents ... even though Heather did!
Here you can really see the brown I added to the image.
I also decided to emboss on a couple of layers because the card seemed so one dimensional to me. Now it's busier than I'll get out! LOL!
This is a technique that just requires you to go for it! If you just can't seem to get started then find a card you like that is done with this technique and recreate it using your own palette and images.
Additional Supplies for Hope card: Pixie Dust and Spanish Olive VersaMagic Ink, Transcendence Emboss Powder, Nesties Dies, brown marker
Happy Paper Crafting!

WOW! The difference between a studio shot and a back porch shot! {big sigh} I included the back porch shot because it shows so much detail that wasn't captured in the studio shot ... and as a stamper ... I LOVE detail!
The first thing I did was pick out the designer paper I wanted to use. Then I picked out my Copics to match and colored the image accordingly.
After I colored I went around the image with my prismacolor blue and then chalks. I added highlights with a white gel pen and then added Glossy Accents. While the Glossy Accents was still wet I pulled out my Prismaglitter ... picked up little pinches of it and sprinkled it onto my Glossy Accents ... very gently.
You can kind of see the glitter here. In person it's subtle yet eye-catching.
This is my color palette. The RV's were BAM! I mean REALLY BAM! So BAM that I thought they needed to be toned down. I took my RV000 and completely went over the pink balloons and the frogs tummy and toned until I was satisfied. Remember that the lighter colors will lighten your darker tones! I actually liked the results!
I used my Primsmacolor Pencil PC004 Light Cerulean Blue to outline around my frog and the balloons. Then I blended it out gently with Odorless Mineral Spirits.
I LOVE chalk clouds and skies so I added that next! I use these blues from my pastel chalks constantly!
This card is MUCH cuter than the shots I took (IMHO) and one that I would enjoy making again!
Hope you enjoy!
Mischelle
Congratulations to Tina Mansfield and Eva Costigan! I'll get your blog candy in the mail this week!

Okay ~ I won't lie ~ I think this idea is FABULOUS! REALLY! I LOVE IT! How cute is this favor! And the only thing I had to do was add the tag to this one! {smiles}
BELOW: I bought this 'Gumball a Day' treat from my friend Danelle Johnson... who happens to be selling these at our craft shows! I asked her if I could buy it, show my idea with it on my blog and THEN use it for my tablescape idea because I knew it would be PERFECT! And it is! Don't you just LOVE it! Danelle is selling these little babies for $3 each and they are every kids' dream come true! {What a fabulous stocking stuffer, table favor or a way to BLESS a special little child!}
So I just added the tag and knew it would be a sensational addition to my Christmas Tablescape for the Kids!
If you hadn't heard ... I so LOVE this idea! And then during our blog hop and chat last night I got another idea from Chelsea Comer that is just as clever! Check out Chelsea's Gumball Holder that is also so cute and so clever! Now I can't decide which to make for the kiddo's ... no worries though ... either one is a winner!
And speaking of winners ... you're probably wondering who won my Blog Candy from our Deck the Halls Blog Hop! Can I have a drum-roll please ..... Congratulations to hopper #45 ... our very own TAC Angel Sara Woodard! That leaves us with Blog Candy for one of our guest hoppers now! Congratulations ... Eva Costigan! I smiled when I saw that it was Eva's number because Eva and I worked together at TAC several years ago! If you follow her blog ... WOW ... you know that girlfriend can color! I wonder if I should deliver her blog candy or make her pick it up???! {just kidding}

For our Deck the Halls Blog Hop I thought I'd work on a concept for my Christmas Table Scape for our kids' table. So ... I played with some ideas and did a 'mock-up' of my Table Scape so I can work on perfecting it in time for my favorite holiday!
The INSPIRATION piece was this tall jewel tone tree. (Would you believe I got 2 of these ... years ago ... at Target for just over $10 each!). This color palette is probably my signature palette for how I decorate the kids area. I LOVE these rich, luscious, happy, energetic colors! YUM!
BELOW: I always like to have a small gift at each person's place setting. I thought this simple idea would easily add color and I could use various shades of tissue paper and ribbon to keep the energy bouncing around!
OH! You noticed my MONKEYS! LOL! I LOVE this Sock Monkey set and ... I LOVE MONKEYS! {I hear some of our Angels laughing ... it's okay ... I'm laughing with you!} Any whoo ... I wanted to keep the atmosphere light and playful so I decided to use this set for my Christmas Table Scape ... and I LOVE it! {smiles}
I had several ideas for place cards, however, I have lots of these little 2.25" x 3.25" clear frames so thought they would be clean and easy. I also decided to use my shipping supply stash to make wine glass markers. Okay ... the kids don't drink wine, however, they do get to drink out of 'fancy' glasses on the holidays and special occasions!
I also had to work on ideas for each place setting. You might be wondering about the zebra stripe plates but what other kind of plate would you put with a sock monkey? LOL!
I punched the image below with my green circle Clever Lever Punch, adhered it to a button and then a ring back ... so this little decoration is also a treat! My nieces will LOVE these rings!
Another table scape I tried was using cards as the name plates. I LOVE the idea of writing a blessing to each child on Christmas and the card would then serve double duty! Name plate and blessing!
Instead of making all of my tags wine glass markers ... I thought some would make darling necklaces as well! Again ... the girls will LOVE this! Notice on the image below I dusted the edges of the circle with blue ink ... I kinda' like it!
Sophie's blessing card ... I took white crepe paper and sponged pear tart ink on half of it all the way down a strip. Then I adhered it to her card. I just wanted to try something different and see what other textures I could introduce! And inexpensively!
Here is another 'ring'. this one has Stickles around the circumference of it.
Working on a 'boy' scape. I think a Tic, Tac, Toe game would be a GREAT addition here ... {I'll start working on that!}
Kevin's blessing card ...
Kevin's name plate ...
I LOVE the addition of the die cut snowflake and Stickles! I could NOT find a snowflake punch anywhere so went to my Spellbinders drawer and found this dinosaur of a die! I have no idea how old it is but I know I got it years ago ... before I even had the die cutting machine! FINALLY! This was my first time using it! (And I like it!)
I colored all of my images with my Copics. You could easily use prismacolor pencils, watercolor pencils, etc.
The Glossy Accents, Stickles, White Gel Pen, Pop Dots and Snowflake Die ~ these were the stars of the show! They polished everything up for me and made this table scape FUN!
I hope this inspires you to have FUN this holiday season and do something unexpected!
Happy Paper Crafting!
Mischelle
Here is another oldie but goodie! Some of you may remember this Heather Scott Retiform card that was featured years ago ... in our 3rd catalogue???! I knew I still had it so I did a little looking and pulled it out so I could share it here!
(Note the Glossy Accents on the bee)
This is another version of retiform and in my opinion ... a bit easier than the card I showed you yesterday. Tomorrow I'm going to share yet another retiform version ... this time a card by Avis Anderson that you'll also enjoy!
If you're wondering what all of this 'retiform talk' is about ... well ... we released our Blog Hop Schedule through February 2011 and it has sparked lots of conversation! So many of us older stampers remember retiform and many others have never heard of it so we thought we'd dig into our archives and share!
